Installing the ScreenRoll app
Choose your machine below and the download will start.
The builds are not signed yet. A signing certificate is being arranged. Until it is, both Windows and macOS will warn you the first time you open the app — not because anything is wrong with it, but because neither system has been told who we are. The steps below are how you tell it. Every build is listed with its SHA-256 at the foot of this page, so you can check that what you downloaded is what we published.
macOS
Apple silicon — M1 and later Your machine- Open the downloaded .dmg and drag ScreenRoll onto the Applications folder.
- Open it from Applications. macOS refuses the first time and says Apple could not verify "ScreenRoll" is free of malware. Press Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security. There is a line saying ScreenRoll was blocked, with a button: press Open Anyway and confirm with Touch ID or your password.
- Press Open in the last dialog. That is the whole of it — from now on it starts like any other application.
Windows
Windows 11, 64-bit Your machine- Run the downloaded .exe. Windows shows a blue panel: Windows protected your PC.
- Press More info — a small link under the message — and then Run anyway.
- The installer runs. It installs for your account only, so it never asks for an administrator password, and it offers to start ScreenRoll with Windows.
Checking what you downloaded
These are the builds this page offers, read from the server as you loaded it. Compare the checksum if you want to be certain the file arrived intact — on macOS shasum -a 256 <file>, on Windows certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256.
