What it meansThe screen's own Audio enabled switch is off. When it is, the platform does not even send audio content to that screen.
What to doTurn it on in the screen's settings. This is a stronger mute than a volume control, and it is the setting a venue with its own music should be using.
Silent, and the diagnostics say “carried by another device”
What it meansCorrect behaviour on a multi-device video wall. One panel carries the sound so that four panels do not play the same track a fraction apart.
What to doNothing to fix here. If the sound is coming from an inconvenient panel, that is decided automatically — connect the speakers to the panel that has it, or use an HDMI split wall where sync is physical.
Silent, and the diagnostics say “ducked by Main”
What it meansA video with its own sound is playing, so the background music has paused. It resumes where it left off when the video ends.
What to doIntended. If you did not intend that video to have sound, change its audio setting in the Media Library.
Silent, and there is no Audio zone in the schedule
What it meansSound comes from a playlist assigned to the Audio zone. Every layout has one, but it is empty until you fill it.
What to doEdit the schedule and assign an audio playlist to the Audio zone. Schedules.
What it meansThat creative is set to play unmuted, and the screen is not muted.
What to doEither mute the creative, or turn off Audio enabled on the screen — the second is safer for a venue that should always be silent, because it survives somebody uploading a noisy creative next month.
An echo across a video wall
What it meansSeveral panels playing the same audio a fraction apart. On a correctly configured wall this cannot happen.
What to doCheck the screen's monitor connection type. Panels driven as separate devices coordinate sound between them; if they were set up as separate screens instead of one screen with several monitors, nothing coordinates them. Screens.
A silent venue is a settings question, not a volume question
There is no volume slider in the platform. Loudness belongs to the television and its amplifier; the platform decides only whether sound is sent at all. That is deliberate — a remote volume control that disagrees with the physical one is worse than neither.
